Blending Notes
AROMA: Sweet, tarry, alluring
PALATE: Voluptuous, smokiness
PURPOSE: Escape into the woods
A smoky cup that captures the allure of camping in the wilds of British Columbia.
Ingredients
Estate yunnan tea, meticulously hand-smoked with alder and cherry wood
The Master Blender for black tea personally supervises the slow, small batch hand-smoking process in our Vancouver blending centre. Alder wood is the dominant note but is often supplemented with local cherry wood and, when available, oak broken down from whiskey casks. This blend, along with Pu-Erh, is one of the rare, collectible teas that can age, with careful control of humidity and a constant low temperature.

I've been working through various Tealeaves teas and I think this just might be my favourite. It truly is beautifully blended. Subtle and exquisite. My afternoon tea of choice. Highly recommend.
I first had this tea at the Hotel Vancouver one rainy December day many years ago. As o brewed it this morning in my kitchen car away, I was magically transported back to the city I love so much. The aroma of smoke and the delicious Yunnan tea is wonderful. I drink mine with a local blackberry honey, Yacon syrup and some soy creamer. It’s really heavenly. I love the packaging, too. You took great care to preserve this tea and present it so nicely. I even like the divot for the spoon. It’s not as good as being at the Hotel Vancouver, but it helps!
It's a very tasty tea, I usually drink classic Earl Grey, but after trying BC Forestea I prefer it over Earl Grey. It has a nice smokey aroma, a little less smokey and a bit different compared to Lapsang Souchong, but it's still amazing. I prefer it to Lapsang Souchong, but I love both. Highly recommend, it makes for a great gift too. Will definitely buy again.
