Nutcracker Martini

Dreams of the Nutcracker come to life with this martini. Steeping a strong infusion of Nutcracker tea, Mixologist Bryon Halliburton mixes it with vanilla vodka and Frangelico to accentuate the tea’s top note of hazelnut.

A touch of orange syrup was added to round out the “martini.”

Notes from Byron Halliburton, Ritz Carlton, New Orleans:

“We took seven days, an hour each, trying different infusion strengths and liquor pairings for the Nutcracker Martini.  With a bit of trial and error, we used three times the recommended amount of tea leaves for a strong infusion without bitterness, and paired it with vodka and an orange simple syrup.”

“We wanted to showcase the Nutcracker tea’s notes of vanilla and hazelnut.”
