Mint Julep Tea

Ingredients

Mint Julep Iced Tea

  • 2 Tsp. TEALEAVES Organic Health & Well-Being Loose Leaf Tea
  • 2 Oz. Russell's Reserve 10 Year Old Bourbon 
  • 1 Tbsp. Mint Simple Syrup (see below)
  • 2-3 Sprigs Fresh Mint Leaves (for garnish)

Mint Simple Syrup

  • 1 Cup White Sugar
  • 1 Cup Fresh Mint Leaves

Instructions

Mint Julep Iced Tea

  1. Take 2 Tsp. TEALEAVES Organic Health & Well-Being tea and steep in 8 oz/236 mL. of hot water (82ºC/180ºF is ideal).
  2. Strain the tea after 1 minute, cool.
  3. Muddle the mint leaves at the bottom of a Collins glass.
  4. Fill the glass half full of ice.
  5. Mix the whiskey and simple syrup, and pour over ice.
  6. Fill the rest of the glass with Organic Health & Well-Being Green tea and stir.

Mint Simple Syrup

  1. Combine sugar, 1 cup of water and mint in a small saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Remove from heat and cool.
  4. Strain through a sieve.
