PALATE
Full-bodied with a sweet, malty finish, well-balanced.
The other night, you dreamt of a brilliant adventure. You traversed the foreign lands of the Assam region endowed with lush greenery – fields filled with golden-tipped large leaves. Upon waking in the morning, you went to your kitchen and brewed a cup of Golden Tippy Assam. Wonder fills your soul as you realize that while the dream was just that, the sensation was no figment of your imagination!
The Assam region borders Bangladesh and Burma, known for high precipitation (especially during monsoon period) and high humidity and temperatures (40°C (104°F)). This hot terroir yields a strong, malty, black tea character. Contrast that to Darjeeling and Nilgiri teas, which are grown in the highlands, and exhibit great complexity (as opposed to strength and maltiness).
