This naturally caffeine-free twist on the traditional favourite features antioxidant-rich certified organic rooibos scented with cold-press, first-press Italian bergamot essential oils to yield a clean and tart cup.

Decades ago, an up-and-coming band who called themselves The Beatles proclaimed that "all you need is love" – but what is love without those little things in life to share with someone? Our Earl Grey Rooibos, combining the heart-warming qualities of Italian bergamot essential oils and the citrus character of the bergamot will have you skipping down the street singing with your loved ones!

Rooibos, which is inherently slightly tart, is growing in popularity due to its strong reputed health benefits and antioxidant qualities. Pairing with the citrus character of bergamot takes meticulous blending for each small batch because rooibos will vary significantly from crop to crop and thus requires constant refinement of the tea blending recipe.

This blend is one of eight in our Rooibos line, along with Namaste, Hazelnut Rooibos, Pear Rooibos, Piña Colada Rooibos, Organic Rooibos, Organic Vanilla Rooibos and Organic Tangerine Rooibos – all naturally caffeine-free and full of antioxidants!

Rooibos comes from the rugged slopes of the Western Cape Mountains in South Africa. In 1772, botanist Carl Humberg discovered that the locals of the Cape's Cedarberg region made a sweet tasting "tea" of the indigenous "red bush" plant. They picked the stems and leaves, bruised them with hammers, left them in piles to ferment, and then dried them in the sun.

Herbals, generally speaking, are best drunk with a touch of honey and lemon - not with milk or soymilk. However, Rooibos is an exception and is often flavoured with a touch of milk by South Africans.
