Late as usual, she ran up the steps. Above, a fan lazily pushed the air, heavy with the tea's sultry scent. As she approached, I poured her cup. Harvested that morning, I anticipated the tea's exquisite aroma and complex notes as it touched my lips.
The term "Orange" originates from the Dutch Royal House of Orange-Nassau. Pekoe is a Chinese word describing the spring buds of the tea bush which are covered with "down."

Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, is the world's third largest producer of tea and has an ideal climate for rich, complex black teas. Orange Pekoe, the most famous of the Ceylon teas, is not actually a flavour or type of black tea, but rather a traditional grading term. True Orange Pekoe is comprised of the second leaf on the tea shoot.
