FRENCH NAME LA FEUILLE JADE
BLEND NO. 6000
Harvested in Northwest China, this high-mountain, 1st flush (spring) green tea produces a fresh and delicate jade infusion. Carefully hand-picked then withered and gently dried, this is a
natural leaf type tea.
A highly prized tea, Jade Leaf is a variation on Lung Ching - but rather than being pan fired, is steam fired akin to the classical Japanese treatment of Sencha. Infuse at 90 seconds at 85 Celcius, infusion time can lengthen depending on the level of vegetal flavor desired.

The very best teas in China come from "Sacred Gardens", which are shrouded in mist and secrecy. Only a privileged few know how many there are and their exact whereabouts. These secret gardens produce very small quantities of tea, which is reserved exclusively for high government officials. The most common types of tea are grown on state-cooperative farms. The quality of these teas is high, and they are often blended to ensure consistency for the export market. In between the sacred gardens and state farms, there are small, family-run gardens in remote areas, which harvest small amounts of very high-quality tea.
