As he gently and deftly crafts his culinary creations, you can’t help but notice the robust aroma of the Yunnan tea that he seasons with, hand-smoked, and blended to perfection.

Our blenders love these Golden Tippy Yunnans, and even use them as a primary component in our hand-smoked teas (such as the BC Forestea), which are blended for two- and three-star Michelin chefs worldwide for culinary application.

MASTER BLENDER TASTING NOTES
Master Blender Tasting Notes Underline
With their strong, brisk cup and distinctively beautiful appearance, Yunnans are continually achieving greater prominence as more aficionados discover their robust character. This particular blend is named for its fine leaf buds or "golden tips," which complement the tea's sweet aroma and have virtually no astringency. Mainstream grades of Yunnan are not desirable due to their dark, brown liquor and overly-tannic palate. Try making this blend in a gaiwan or yixing (purple terracotta) teapot using slightly lower water temperature (90°C (195°F)). The technical grading for this blend is FTGFOP with 18% SFTGFOP. Note that if you prefer the character of Yunnan, also try Pu-Erh, which is the other famous tea produced in Yunnan.
