These Fortune Balls are said to bring good fortune and luck to the tea drinker, a three decade old tradition from Yunnan province.

Bring some love and luck to your day today with one of our Fortune Flowering Tea Balls. Opening up into a flower when immersed in hot water, this delectable concoction resembles your heart in full bloom, and its tradition of bringing the drinker fortune will follow you wherever you go.

The best aesthetic for the Fortune Balls is to employ a glass (borosilicate) teapot or cup. The resulting infusion is a mild, light liquored tea that should be drunk without pairing with food (white teas and in particular, Fortune Balls, need to be appreciated in solo, so as to enhance the subtle characteristics).

MASTER BLENDER TASTING NOTES
Master Blender Tasting Notes Underline
Flowering, or blooming, tea is made up of a handmade bundle of dried tealeaves (primarily white, unfermented, and dried) bound together with cotton thread into a tight ball. Once in contact with hot water, the leaves will slowly unfurl into a large blooming flower. With these blossoming teas, the challenge is to source leaves that meet the EU and Japanese standards for herbicides and pesticides. Due to the need to have long leaves that have the length and width for hand-sewing, the leaves need to be diligently inspected for standards. Consonant with our worldwide procurement Quality Control program, we ensure that the tea leaves meet the strictest regulatory standards, and at the same time retain their nuanced character and interest.
