Mingled with the scent of ripe mangoes, this refreshing Tung Ting oolong yields a sweet and delicate cup.

Looking out the window into the sky, you see the beautiful orange sun setting into the night. With the gentle sounds of the waves crashing along the shore, you decide to make a cup of oolong scented with the sweetness of the Hawaiian mangoes you love. Sit down, unwind, and relax to the cool night.

Using the natural essential oil of Hawaiian mango, our blenders pair a low-fermentation oolong (more green character than black oxidized) to balance out the sweetness and tartness of the fruit.

Oolong teas undergo a partial oxidation, which can vary from 10-80%depending on the style of tea in each region to the wishes of the tea maker. This broad oxidation range brings a remarkable number of delicious teas with a range of styles and flavours. Our Mango Oolong is lightly-oxidized and hence on the fruity and aromatic side.

The original name for oolong - wulong – translates into Dark or Black Dragon, a title once bestowed on the large, bulky dark tea leaves from the Wuyi Shan in China. There is also a possibility that the name was given in honour of the teas shaped to resemble the silhouette of the mystical Chinese dragon.
